What happens if the imaginary friends of your childhood popped back into your life as an adult? Looks like we’ll get to find out towards the end of the summer when Christopher Robin comes to the big screen!
Disney’s “Christopher Robin” is a live action adventure with one of my favorite actors, Ewan McGregor, playing the part of a grown up Christopher Robin. It would seem that adulthood is taking its toll on Christopher and his stuffed animal pals venture into the real world to help him find the joy of being alive.
This looks like an interesting take on Winnie the Poo. Christopher’s imaginary playmates are not drawn in with bright cartoon colors, but are done with CGI in a way to make them look like real–and very played with–stuffed animals. Thank goodness they don’t look like my old teddy bear–he got half his fur loved off.
Naturally Poo, Tigger and the gang come to London to help Christopher with the aid of his daughter.
The film comes out Aug. 3, so we’ll be able to squeeze this one into our summer blockbuster schedule. If we’re lucky, maybe it will even show at the Skyview.
This looks like a rare PG film–gentle enough for the younger kids, but with Ewan McGregor in the lead to make it entertaining for the parents in the audience.
